How much does it cost?
$89.95 per person
Do you have a group discount?
Absolutely. Groups of 8 persons or more pay a discounted price of $79.95 per person when reservations are booked together. Given enough notice, we also may be able to book private groups on days when POSTOAK Canopy Tours typically is not open.
When should I show up?
Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your tour time. That’s just enough time for us to fit you with your harness and helmet, for you to complete waiver forms and for your group to get to the tour starting point. If you are late and miss your tour’s departure time, a voucher will be issued for a tour at another time.
Where are you located?
POSTOAK Canopy Tours is located about 7 miles northwest of downtown Tulsa and is on the acreage of POSTOAK Lodge & Retreat. For directions and a map, click here.
How many people are on a tour?
Each tour has a minimum of 2 and maximum of 8 participants. If your group has more than 10 participants, please let us know that information when you book your tour. We’ll make custom arrangements so your groups leave within a few minutes of each other instead of our regularly scheduled tours that are 1 hour apart.
How long does it take?
Plan on spending about 3 hours total with POSTOAK Canopy Tours. The adventure itself takes around 1.5-2.5 hours, depending on the weather and the people in your group. You also need to arrive 30 minutes prior to your tour time to: get fitted for your equipment (harness and helmet), review and sign a waiver form and go with your group to the tour’s starting point. You also may want to allow time to get refreshments and to visit our gift shop.
Are there age requirements?
POSTOAK Canopy Tours participants must be age 10 or older and meet all physical and health requirements. A parent or legal guardian must accompany kids under age 16. A teenager age 16 or older may participate as long as his / her parent or legal guardian has reviewed, completed and signed the waiver form on the teenager’s behalf.
Why is there a waiver form?
POSTOAK Canopy Tours’ equipment is safe and our staff is formally trained, but it’s impossible for us to eliminate all the potential risks that might occur when you’re participating in an outdoor activity such as our canopy tour. All guests must sign a waiver prior to the tour saying that they are participating at their own risk and responsibility. Participating minors must have their parent or legal guardian sign the waiver on their behalf. To see a downloadable copy of the waiver form, click here. Please feel free to print, complete, date and sign the waiver to save time during registration.
Are there weight or size limitations?
Yes. You must weigh at least 70 pounds and not more than 250 pounds. We have all our riders step on a scale to make sure they are within the weight range. The scale does not have numbers, only two colors. Green shows that you are within the 70-250lb range and Red means you fall outside of this range and will not be allowed to zip. Also, your body shape and size must safely fit in POSTOAK Canopy Tours’ harness and helmet.
What should I wear?
Show up in comfortable outdoor clothing – something like jeans or shorts with T-shirts. Also make sure you wear close-toed shoes that tie, lace, buckle or Velcro to your feet. Running shoes are a perfect choice. You’d think we wouldn’t have to say this, but…no dresses or skirts, please, and no flip-flops, slip-ons or open-toed shoes. While we’re at it, having a bare mid-drift while rigged up and flying through trees is a really bad idea.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
Depending on the weather, your happy-level probably will be higher if you bring sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat and sunglasses.
Will I see wildlife?
You just might. POSTOAK Canopy Tours is located on Persimmon Ridge in the rolling Osage Hills. The property is home to whitetail deer, cottontail rabbits, squirrels, wild turkeys, red fox, Canadian geese and a broad variety of Oklahoma birds, among others. Your guide will point out wildlife spotted during your tour. You’ll also see interesting plants and trees.
Can I bring my camera?
Absolutely! The sights are amazing. Your camera, however, must fit in a zippered pocket or fanny pack that you bring and wear. During much of the tour, you will need to have both hands free. Our guides will not be able to handle or use your camera while on the tour. You also have the option to purchase pictures that our Guides take of you. The cost is $7/person plus tax for every person in your reservation if you purchase them before you go on the tour and $9/person plus tax if you purchase them after the tour. For those that purchase the pictures, we will email all of them to you at the end of the day.
Oops! What if I drop something?
POSTOAK Canopy Tours is not responsible for any of your personal property that gets lost or damaged. We also won’t be able to recover items that you drop while on the tour lines or platforms.
What makes this safe?
Structure – POSTOAK Canopy Tours is professionally built in accordance to construction standards set by the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT).
Professional, Trained Guides – All of our guides are trained in accordance to standards set by ACCT. Every guide participates in a minimum of 40 hours of specialized training. We take great care to recruit and retain some of the best guides in the business.
Safety Gear – The safety gear used in our tour is the best in the industry. All life- supporting items have a strength rating that exceeds 5,000 pounds and our gear is maintained to ensure its effectiveness.
Procedures – Our procedures ensure that you are hooked to a safety connection at all times while on the deck and your connection to the zip cable always includes a redundant system to ensure there is a safety back up.
What kind of shape do I need to be in to do this?
POSTOAK Canopy Tours really isn’t physically demanding. You should be able to walk about 10 minutes, have the strength to climb a 14-foot ladder and be able to lift your legs as you arrive at each landing deck. All participants must have the mental capacity to follow directions and safety rules.
Who physically should not take the tour?
The tour is not available to those who are pregnant. It also is not recommended for people who have heart conditions, seizure disorders, asthma, balance issues or serious disabilities. If you have back, neck or shoulder problems, take into consideration that you will be connected to the cable by a harness. If you have health concerns, please discuss them with our staff prior to booking a tour.
I’m scared of heights. Can I do this?
Many people are a little anxious and have some fear of heights. When that’s the case, those people typically find the tour to be rewarding, exciting and fun. Since this is a tour, one of our highly trained guides will be with your group the entire time providing technical, physical and emotional support. If heights, though, make you white-knuckled, pass-out, throw-up or scared, you probably won’t think this is fun. And we’re not going to make you go with us.
Can I just watch if I don’t want to do the tour?
You’re welcome to hang out at POSTOAK Canopy Tours’ reception area and enjoy the Oklahoma landscape, but you won’t be able to watch the actual tour. Those on the tour will be traversing through the hills and valleys, as well as in and out of trees.
Do you provide refunds if I’m too late for my group or I cancel?
No, we do not offer refunds. We will offer a voucher for a tour at a later date.

- Intoxicated or impaired people will not be allowed to participate.
- Smoking is not allowed on the tour.
We reserve the right to refuse participation by any person POSTOAK Canopy Tours believes is not able, or should not be allowed, to tour.
